CD64 Plus Unit for Nintendo 64

I found this many years ago at Englishtown Flea Market
in Manalapan, NJ. I never sold it and still have it in my
collection. To me, it still is the most unique and rarest
piece of hardware I have ever found. It's called the CD64
Plus and it's for the copy and backup of Nintendo 64
games onto a disc media, CD, and plays from that disc
media. It connects under the Nintendo 64.

A game cartridge slides into the front of the device and a
CD ROM drive can be seen at the base of the unit. You'll notice
that the molding on the top of the device represents the shape
of the Nintendo 64 system's front bottom.

A parallel port is located on the back side of the unit. This
is for dumping ROMS to the PC

At a top view you can see that the shell is a see through
black color. A little access door in the center is where the
memory is located.

I have had this for a very long time. The idea was always to
one day involve it in a project. It is very unique and a
one-of-kind find. More can be found out about this
from the following sites.

create my own.

Super Saiya Densetsu & Super Back To The
Future 2, Japanese Translated to English. Stayed
tuned for more in the future.

Made My First Reproduction SNES Cartridge

Today I successfully made my own reproduction
copy of Zelda Parallel Worlds.

The Legend of Zelda Parallel Worlds is a fan overhaul of The Legend of Zelda: A Link To The Past using new graphics, new music, a new overworld and underworld, and a storyline.

Had to do some rewiring after writing the rom to eprom’s. I have to admit I am still a beginner when it comes to soldering. I went through three pcb’s and got it on the third try. From my experience I am much better at it after 5-6hrs of tinkering.

Here it is in action, tested and working.

I'll be making more reproductions in the near future, this one was just to break the ice and get a feel for how it's done. I have planned Star Fox 2 in the future. However, that one may have to wait because of the difficulty.
